Our Approach

We Always Try to Save Your Tooth First

Tooth extraction is the complete removal of a tooth from its socket in the jawbone. At Ease Dental in Greater Noida West, we always explore every option to save your natural tooth first — because a natural tooth is always the best tooth. However, when extraction is the right course of action, our experienced oral surgeon ensures the procedure is as gentle, swift, and pain-free as possible.

Many patients who are anxious about extractions are pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the procedure is with modern local anaesthesia and our gentle clinical technique. Most simple extractions take less than 10 minutes from numbing to completion.

After extraction, we will discuss all available options for replacing the missing tooth — including dental implants, dental bridges, and removable dentures — to ensure your smile and bite are fully restored.

We Explore All Options Before Extraction

Wherever possible, we recommend root canal treatment, fillings, or crowns to save the tooth. Extraction is only recommended when saving the tooth is not clinically possible or in the patient's best interest.

Your Oral Surgeon

Dr. Rajat Gupta (MDS, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery) leads surgical extractions at Ease Dental, bringing specialist expertise to even the most complex cases.

Including impacted wisdom teeth, broken root removals, curved roots, and multi-tooth extractions for denture preparation.

Step by Step

The Extraction Procedure — What to Expect

We believe in keeping patients fully informed. Here's exactly what happens during your extraction appointment at Ease Dental — no surprises, no anxiety.

Most patients tell us the anxiety before the extraction was far worse than the extraction itself. With modern anaesthesia, you will feel no pain — only gentle pressure and movement.

1
Consultation & Digital X-ray

We take a digital X-ray to assess the tooth's roots, surrounding bone, and proximity to nerves before any procedure begins.

5–10 minutes
2
Local Anaesthesia

The area around the tooth is completely numbed using modern local anaesthesia. You will feel pressure during the procedure but absolutely no pain.

3–5 minutes to take effect
3
Tooth Removal

The tooth is carefully loosened and removed. For surgical cases, a small gum incision is made first. The procedure is swift and controlled.

5–45 minutes depending on case
4
Clot Formation & Haemostasis

Gauze is placed over the socket and you bite down gently to control bleeding and allow a protective blood clot to form in the socket.

30–45 minutes gauze pressure

Post-Extraction Instructions

You receive clear written aftercare instructions on care, diet, pain management, and warning signs to watch for during healing.

Recovery Guide

After Tooth Extraction — Care Instructions

Proper care after extraction ensures fast healing and prevents complications. Follow these instructions carefully.

Bite on Gauze

Bite gently on gauze for 30–45 minutes to control bleeding and form a clot

Salt Water Rinse

Gently rinse with warm salt water from the second day onwards

Soft Cool Foods

Eat soft, cool foods for 2–3 days. Yogurt, ice cream, soups work well

Take Medication

Take prescribed pain medication and antibiotics exactly as directed

Ice Pack

Apply ice to your cheek in 15-minute intervals to reduce swelling

Head Elevated

Keep your head elevated when sleeping for the first 1–2 nights

No Vigorous Rinsing

Do not rinse vigorously for 24 hours — it can dislodge the clot

No Smoking

No smoking for 72+ hours — massively increases dry socket risk

No Hot/Spicy Foods

Avoid hot, hard, or spicy foods for the first 2–3 days after extraction

No Alcohol or Straw

No straws — the suction can pull out the clot and cause dry socket

No Exercise

Avoid strenuous activity for 3–4 days as it can cause renewed bleeding

Don't Touch the Socket

Do not probe the socket with your tongue, finger, or any instrument

Warning: Dry Socket

If you experience sudden severe pain 2–4 days after extraction, you may have dry socket. Contact Ease Dental immediately. Do not ignore this — it requires prompt treatment to relieve pain and protect the exposed bone.

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about tooth extraction. Still worried? Call us — we'll walk you through the whole process.

Call Ease Dental Emergency Line

No. Tooth extraction at Ease Dental is performed under local anaesthesia, which completely numbs the area. You will feel pressure and movement but no pain during the procedure. After the anaesthesia wears off, mild soreness is normal and is easily managed with prescribed pain medication.

A simple extraction typically takes 5 to 20 minutes depending on the tooth. Surgical extractions for impacted wisdom teeth take 20 to 60 minutes. Dr. Rajat Gupta (Oral Surgeon) ensures the procedure is as swift and gentle as possible.

The gum tissue over the socket typically closes within 1 to 2 weeks. The underlying bone fully heals in 3 to 6 months. Pain and swelling after extraction usually subside within 3 to 5 days.

Dry socket (alveolar osteitis) occurs when the blood clot in the extraction socket dislodges prematurely, exposing the underlying bone. It causes significant pain 2–4 days after extraction. To avoid it: do not smoke, do not use a straw, do not rinse vigorously, and avoid hard foods for the first 48 hours.

For simple extractions, most patients can return to light work the same day or the next day. For surgical extractions or wisdom tooth removal, we recommend at least 1–2 days of rest. Avoid strenuous physical activity for 3–4 days as it can cause bleeding.

Some oozing for the first few hours after extraction is normal. If bleeding is significant, bite firmly on a clean gauze pad for 30 minutes. If heavy bleeding persists beyond 1 hour, call Ease Dental immediately at +91 9582926592.
